    Very Strange Daily Stats
Ok so if this REALLY did happen I am happy but I don't think so.

I looked at my stats for TODAY on SAS and normally by noon I may see two or three click throughs the best day was 8 (I am still so new ) anyway today it looked like EVERYONE of my SAS affiliates got one or more clicks. I look at my statcounter (as this would mean that someone had to have looked at almost every page of my site and clicked on every ad) but there were not that many visits yet. (I thought maybe a spider had visited and clicked thru)

I checked rextopia (the only other network I am on with "real time stats") and no click thrus there . (Of course I am only promoting one product there at this time and my page promoting it is only a few days old so GOOGLE hasn't found it yet. (although I did do a new sitemap and ping it to G yesterday )

I went back to my SAS stats and under "last page clicked" there is NO PAGE.

So what happened with my SAS Stats?

GRose - it could have been a spider that crawled through your site, setting off clicks on all your outgoing links. I just had the same thing happen yesterday. 2 clicks at least on merchants who normally don't get but a few a month and every merchant had clicks. Mine was caused by my authorizing an Alexa report for broken links.

Have you checked the user agents on that traffic yet? Most spiders use their own user agents so they can be differentiated from real web browsers.

I thought about spiders but statcounter doesnt show a spider visiting normally I see them come and go. also when I have been spidered before it never went through the links and also why didn't it show a "last page clicked" on the SAS report.

It doesn't happen with statcounter. Could have been Goog or another SE crawling around.

I really can't explain anything about the technical theory here, just know that after authorizing an Amazon/Alexa report on my site, I got the same thing. Also, it showed no referring URL for the clicks I got either so maybe spiders don't trigger a page they clicked from? No clue really. Maybe someone with more (any!) technical savvy will know.

hmmm well I did authorize the new Yahoo SiteReview Beta maybe that was it but why only my SAS links and not the Rextopia (wich has realtime reporting )? Will wait to see what my CJ and LS links show tommorrow I guess. (so far my CJ reports for today shows normal clicks)

Probably just some small-time robot that SAS hasn't bothered to code against showing up in the click tracking.

The last page clicked report at SAS isn't worth looking at. It often doesn't report anything. Don't know why; bottom line to me is, it's just another weirdly unworking network "feature" to ignore.

I don't know if you are using the free version, but I like to get a look at the server log file from time to time. The raw log can be revealing. I put awstats in cgi with the raw log viewer option and really like it. Free too
