Well I for one won't post anything in my trusted ABW forum so you can copy and paste it onto your blog

Thanks for the heads up - and hope you get the quality of responses you deserve

That's debatable. And also what your definition of a CPA network is. But here's a post that might help:

I have yet to join a CPA network where my earnings don't start good and fade over time with no adjustments to traffic flow. Someone told me once that I have to stay up on what offers are available etc. this month this one is better and next month this other network will have something better...nah, I will take a regularly updated datafeed and a retail site any day.
I have seen Loxly breaking some new ground with Rextopia and if I were CPA inclined, it would be in that direction. My days of promoting offers are over for the most part. There are too many ppc opportunities in retail niches that are profitable and unexploited or under-exploited and at the end of the day I know I am not adding to the slimy side of the web by sending customers to legitimate retail merchants to buy their widgets.

I feel like this is a common thread. I'm sure if you search around a bit you can find some opinions of many networks throughout here. Putting my bias aside, I'll throw a vote to MarketLeverage.

Reseach around ABW, you'll find quite a bit of feedback on many CPA networks around.

Hey thanks. We certainly try, and it's good to know that some affiliates appreciate it.

Why don't we open this discussion up a bit with a SHORT LIST of CPA Networks.

I read recently in an old article that there were 350+ of these networks.
I'll bet that there are 500+ by now.
How can they stay in biz with out forming alliances and trading traffic?

More than half of that short list are scoundrels. My guess is that 90% of the other half are un-outed scoundrels.

Is my thinking wrong to think that even if "CPA Network A" wanted to be clean, since they farm out their offers to "CPA Networks A-Z" and most of them are popping adware that "CPA Network A" is now just as dirty as the rest of them? I can't imagine how any CPA network can claim to be clean when they all hammer each others offers with adware and SPAM? Even if "CPA Network A" has in its terms that none of their affiliates are allowed to use adware, that does not cover the affiliates of "CPA Networks A-Z" and someone somewhere is going to be popping on it.

The more times I read this thread and think about how all of this works the more I think that CPA networks are the root of most of the problems in affiliate marketing. I know, I know. Someone will say, "But the CPA network I work for (or am affiliated with) is clean." I just don't see how it can be clean and be competitive. You have to syndicate these offers to make the money and when you do they get pounded.

    Am I wrong?

You gotta test to see.. We Try to give excellent customer service....
Like anything in this business, I think the best evidence comes from getting your feet wet and measuring the results. I know on our side, we try to be fair and very attentive to customer needs. Given the things you can't control in this business, paying attention to those you can goes a long way!

Which CPA network do you trust? None of them.

I'm getting nice results from maxbounty, ok from rextpia, and I can contact my reps easy enough, but can i really say i trust them? I dont trust any network.

How are you guys defining "trust?"

Is it "trust the AMs to make intelligent business deicisons and only show me offers of value?"

Or "Trust the network to not steal my commissions?"

Maybe "trust that the network is clean?"

The problem with all of these statements is that they all could act as a substitute for maintaining control of your business.

"Oh, I don't need to worry about [insert network here]." So you don't check the payout.

"Oh, they would never..." So you don't do the research you need to to make sure commissions aren't being stolen.

"Oh, all her offers are great...." so you commit a bunch of traffic to an offer w/o testing first.

I can tell you that I'm doing everything in my power to make sure that PW is a very affiliate-friendly network, clean and fair with great payouts. But just as an intelligent business practice, if I were you (which I am working on, BTW), I would approach all network relationships the same way. It's your business, it's your revenue, it's your web site and you need to make sure you are in control.

So I guess what I'm saying is that to the degree that a level of trust could involve a concession of control of your own destiny, maybe not trusting isn't such a bad thing.

Then again, I'm one of the "non-trusted" ones.
