    MLB Playoffs
So the MLB playoffs start tommorrow and my Florida Marlins didn't make it. Without them my money is on the Twins to win it all.

    Picks:
As -Twins -> Twins in 4
    Cards - Padres -> Padres
Tigers - Yankees -> I'm gonna go with the yanks in 5
Dodgers - Mets -> The Mets had a great regular season, but the dodgers are looking very strong. It's gonna be very close but I'm gonna say the Dodgers will take it.

Now if only the NFL had something like MLB.TV I could also enjoy the Miami Dolphins from Spain.

edit- can a mod fix the ney york mets typo please?

ESPN is already talking about an all NY series as if they both made it to the WS already. Seems like the Yankees are expected to win every year though. I think the Tigers have a good of a chance as anyone. Should all be fun to watch

I'd toss a coin on New York (AL) or the Twins to advance to the WS. Doesn't matter which National League team shows up.

    So.....Yankees or Twins.

    Yo!

It's the New York Mets, not the Ney York Mets.

In some circles you could get kneecapped for making that mistake.

Just thinking that the World Series begins October 21, 2006 and with a few rain delays it is possible that the world series parade could be held the first day of adtech in ny.

As long as it's not the Dodgers winning it all...I'll be a happy guy. Cannot stand the Dodgers.

Pedro's been out mostly since before the all-star break and they've been doing great. They'd do better with Pedro of course (we miss you Pedro!) but I'm betting the pitching staff will step up.

Pedro hasn't been in the line up for half the season, would be nice to have him, but he is not needed.

As for the Mets slumping...since they clinched they did not put out a full roster of starters, they were giving the youngsters a look. Last week was back to the regular squad, and right back to normal they went.

Okay, Adam and I are sitting on the optimists' bench. Noth is sitting on the s' bench. (But can come sit with us anytime he wants.)

Any other Mets fans wanna come sit on the optimists' bench?

Not too many comments on the Dodgers here. My mom is a die hard fan, so I've got to mention it. Personally I don't care too much. It would be nice to see San Diego win it for a change though.

Yes...yes it would! Go padres. It seems everyone I know is putting their day on hold around here today to either go to the game or watch it at some sports bar. I myself will be enjoying it through mlb.tv on my comp. I got tickets for Game 2 from a season ticket holder after game was sold out...paid over $160/ticket.

As for the Dodgers, my GF is a die hard Dodgers fan and it kills me. If they go further then the Padres, I'll have to avoid her for a bit.

Hehe. Here's my logic on the Pedro situation.

My team, the Pirates, haven't had Pedro ever. We haven't made the NLCS since, well, I'd rather not put it in writing.

Therefore, No Pedro = No NLCS.

Seriously though, I wish the Mets well, but every pitch has so much more importance in the playoffs. The Mets are a better team with Pedro than without. I hope, for your sake, that they prove me wrong. You won't be eliminating my Buccos from the playoffs (you did that in June I think ), so best of luck indeed.

Well my Padres got smacked around in game 1.

I'm a little bummed the Phillies didn't make the wild card for two reasons; one, my good friend pitches for the phillies, so would have been cool to get some tix from him and fly out to watch him pitch and two..i flat out hate the dodgers. So for today...go mets!

phew! mets beat the dodgers. although the dodgers made it interesting. and made a stupid mistake on that play at home...no clue why JD Drew would chance it with one out.

The Mets beat the Cards last night. When we get Pedro Martinez back we will be unstoppable.

    PSST...

The Tigers beat the Mets in the pre-season opener.
The Tigers are unstoppable this season, playing angry and with some attitude.
