    Hi all --

I need to buy something today from For Counsel. Does anyone have an affiliate link for them? If so, please post it within the next few hours and I'll use it when I buy. Thanks.

    Hi Elizabeth,

Do you get a lot of sales from them? I went to buy the product from your link, but it wouldn't add the item to the shopping cart. Since it wouldn't add the item it told me to click a button to reset the page. This button caused a link to show up in the browser window that had the words "killcookie" in it. I exited out of that site, then reloaded the page twice from your link and finally got the product to be added to the shopping cart.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not with them, but you may want to keep an eye on it.

I just bought the product so you should get credit for it.

    Thanks again for the link.

Actually I'd be really interested in knowing what "killcookie" means.

While checking a few merchants links I came across it too.
    Anyone know...<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon3.gif>

I just followed the link, and before I put anything in the shopping cart I looked at it, and there were 2 things in it. I tried to add another thing, and I got the "no cart" message that told me to click, and then I got the killcookie thing too. Still couldn't add anything to the cart, though.

If you are not getting the expected results from them I think I know why.

Some follow-up to the concerns in this thread:

I had some correspondence with For Counsel about the glitches described above. I wrote to them as soon as I learned about the problems Kip and MissDonna described, but the response was silence.

A few days ago they wrote wondering why I didn't have their links up on my site. I asked them to resend my affiliate info because I had lost my email archives and my affiliate info along with it. They suggested that I sign up again with a new account (with no mention of my previous concern or what would happen to the commission on Kip's sale).

I asked about it, saying that I'd be able to promote them with more enthusiasm if I had more confidence in their tracking. Things went from bad to worse. The long and the short of it is that rather than take my concerns seriously they decided they didn't want me as an affiliate after all.

These are For Counsel's closing words to me: " We have many affiliates and none have problems. We doubted your ability to be a good affiliate, and still do, and therefore suggested that because of this lack of confidence you do not affiliate with us."

I never did find out what "killcookie" meant.

Is this a CJ merchant. If so report it as merchant fraud. The "Killcookie" message means they bought some simple script and modified the settings to eliminate the affiliate ID# and return day cookie. Often this causes the shopping cart to go haywire since most require cookies enabled to add items during the shopping session.

No, it's an independent merchant. I'm not sure what tracking software they were using.

    They use myaffiliateprogram.com software/tracking -

Calendars.com uses the same program and I've had great results with them.
