October 21st, 2006, 02:52 PM #1suspicious files when uploading site and security alert
Has anyone else had a (previously CLEAN) page from their site tagged as a security risk from Microsoft? This has happened with the new 7.0 browser that alerts users to phishing scams, etc.
A (rarely visited) page on my site is being flagged by MS 7.0 as a potential phishing risk. The page has a form that asks for info (not CC or financial info).
I have also been getting alerts through Frontpage when I upload changes to my site that there are files in the root web that are not on the destination server (or the other way around - lol) and I am prompted to either leave or remove them. I haven't removed them because I have no idea what they are. I'm concerned that my site has been hacked to re-route this form information. The files look like this:
I would never have suspected anything had someone not just alerted me to the MS phishing alert she got when accessing a page on my site through MS 7.0.
DUHHHHHHHHH - I am clueless about programming and wouldn't recognize a hack attempt on my site if it hit me at 200 miles per hour.
Anyone have a clue?

Don't know if this would help you but I guess its worth a try.
Q. One of the sites I visit is being flagged by Phishing Filter, but it's not a phishing Web site. What can I do?
A. In IE 7, if you believe that a Web site has been mistakenly flagged as a phishing site, click Tools, and then click Report This Web Site. Use the Web page that is displayed to report the error.
In the MSN Toolbar, click the Report link in the red bar to report the page for further analysis and verification by the MS Phishing Filter service.

Maybe you could have the person that alerted you to the info go back to your site and follow the steps.

I like the 7.0 so far, I just toggled the filter to off.

Rexanne, I'd have the tech people at your host check to see what that is.
