Newegg...how are you doing wth them?
This is not at all my vertcal but I am curious as to how affiliates are doing with Newegg?
They are a huge name and recently launched on CJ. I have noticed eBates in their program but thus far they seem to be able to resist Upromise's sizeable slotting fee.
For those of you who play in hardware and electronics...how are they doing if you don't mind my asking? No numbers, just a good or bad.
    Thanks
    Scooter

Edited to say: I shuld have put this in the CJ forum. Any Mod please do

In the electronic industry, it is highly competitive. Margins are small but the avg ticket is high.
As for newegg, they optimize their site quite often. They went through 3-5 site revisions in 4 years. So if you are able to drive traffic, then you should be ok.

I will not be suprise if upromise enters their program. After all, they are the largest or one of the largest computer and/or e-commerce company (behind companies like amazon, jc penny).

Conversion rate is decent compared to my other merchants, but nothing spectacular. They do get a lot of clicks for their brand and selection at least.

I got rid of it since it didn't sell well enough for me.

I think they're worth more as a brand name than anything. I think people are more likely to return if I've got Newegg than if I didn't.

My conversion rate with NewEgg is 50% higher than my average, but my overall EPC with them is 50% lower. They have a strong brand and convert nicely, but they face the same problem as other computer merchants - they have low margins, and therefore will have trouble producing enough commissions to receive any special treatment from my sites.

That is exactly my idea on them. Their name seems to be so big and so well-respected in the tech world that you almost need to represent them even if they are not as profitable as others in their vertical.

I think that will lead to an instant success of their affiliate program, but then a gradual decline as publishers determine that the goodwill they gain is not worth more than smaller commissions. This could be a problem for them. We'll see.

I've made a few bucks off it but nothing special. The commission rates are pretty low.
