I'm still not that great at throwing code together, but I couldn't resist checking out the new API pages. Hoping for some way to show relevant contextual product links from my advertisers. I haven't spotted anyone pulling this off.
My hunch is that it would be too slow, pulling the info from the same iffy servers as when I do a product search. Good guess? Anyone trying this? Maybe combining this with some sort of caching?
I keep expecting something along the lines of chitika to come along that actually works great. Amazon's contextual ads looked promising to me, but they really haven't paid where I tried them...served mostly book ads. Handpicked CJ merchants contextual product ads combined with great content sounds more promising.
