    I'd start by defining the opportunity and what you're looking for in a partner.

    That said, I think partnerships are overrated. They're more trouble than they're worth. Your best bet is to hire some people with complimentary skills. Develop a team, then kick some booty with your elvis gift shop.

    I wouldn't say overrated, but partnerships can not be taken lightly -- like getting married.

    It a long-shot to try and find a business partner with a message board post. Positioned differently, like more of a contracting deal, you may do better.

    sjangro makes a great point. The only successful partnerships I have been involved in are based on personal relationships. I have formed partnerships with a couple people I met through forums, but only after a long trust building period and at least one face-to-face meeting. I would be weary of anyone responding to a post that I don't have some background with.
