Anyone know if Yahoo had a reindex recently. All of my sites seem to have had a 10% boost in traffic for the last week. Only thing I can see different in logs is that more seems to be coming from Yahoo.

    Good going, SSanf!

Looks like it may be a reasonably well-traveled category too.

I'm glad to see someone talking about Yahoo. I've been meaning to ask a few questions about them. Hope you can help me out.

I am not listed on Yahoo but understand that in order to really be successful you need to be listed. I am wary about paying them $300 just to look at my site because there is still that possibility I could get rejected.

Does anyone know if it's really hard to get listed?

Does anyone have tips on how to get listed?

And did you see a real improvement after being listed.

Please help this poor newbie affiliate! lol

    Thanks!

    Janet

Well, I have never paid to be listed in Yahoo or anywhere else, so it is certainly possible to get in search engines and have high rankings without spending a dime.

But, of course, you realize, that generally applies to content sites.

MOM has tons of content. Now, here's the problem with that. People who come to the site are looking to be amused not to shop.
So, sales will no doubt be few and far between.

I have signed up with ClubMom as an advertiser. It really looks like a perfect fit and they pay for leads, not sales. This, I think, will work on a content site that matches so closely with their theme.

So, I guess it will largely be determined by what you are trying to do. If your heart is in a content site, you can get free listings, high page ranks and traffic out the wazoo but no sales.

If you want to make money on the site, well, it takes money to make money.
