    Auction Affiliates... Opinions wanted!
Do you want to be paid per sale or per member signed up? eBay does both, Overstock is by sale, are there other programs I can take a look at? Are the eBay terms confusing? I had to read it a couple times to "get it".

Looking for info for a new site that is coming up.... it's nice to be involved from the ground floor with an affiliate friendly company!

Per member for a new site.

Until it establishes a proven track record of sales, they might be few and far between and thus we earn nothing, but it IS possible to get new members to sign up.

With this site that won't take long She has a great lineup of established companies and the sales will not be long in coming.... also has great reach into the niche it will be targeted for and already the site is high in google listings for the main keywords....

We have heard that before the in the "auction" business. It remains to be seen.

Though if their intent is to build their membership base up I would think per member would work best, but if the site has little to offer new members then not many would be "active" I would think.

I have been in the auction biz since 1997, but lately don't do a whole lot in it (I would rather do affiliate marketing obviously), and have heard the promises of a many of sites.

Being in the B2C auction business, I have found real traffic driving affiliates to enjoy rev-share. The C2C auction business would certainly open itself much more nicely to pay on Registrations considering those registrations become your sales people.

    HI Debbie,

My preference is for paid per sale, with the sign up as an added kicker if possible.

Besides OS and eBay, Ubid is also prominent in pushing there program.

The eBay terms can be confusing, mainly because they change often (and are not consistent throughout the eBay intl sites) and it takes awhile for all the online documentation to catch up.

    Good Luck,
    Tuan
