    I get a fairly good number of requests for mail order catalogs in my e-mail. Is there anyway to capitalize on this?

    I do fairly well with CatalogLink.com and CatalogSavings.com (now catalogs.com) available at Commission Junction and elsewhere. I also am trying ShopAtHome.com from Linkshare and results so far are OK but I hate their zero day cookie. It is too early to say if I will keep promoting them or not.

    I just saw this post, and thought I’d comment on behalf of ShopAtHome.com. First of all, thank you for trying out our affiliate program! Right now, you are correct that we do not have return days set up on our program. Because most of the catalogs and magazine offers are free on our site and do not require a credit card, we are more of an impulse “buy” for the consumers and therefore have a strong order conversion rate. Most people order their free catalogs and magazines during their first visit. We also offer 90-day risk free trial magazine subscriptions, which require a credit card up front. Return days would be more affiliate-friendly for these products.

    We understand the value of return days and plan on adding them to our program within the next month.

    Interesting issue actually...especially after reading Haiko's "Top 25" post. It's suggested that many shoppers are sitting with catalog in hand while looking at a site's catalog page. If your merchant has a short cookie duration, and the customer waits to order until they have catalog in hand, who wins and who loses?

    ...just a hypothetical situation
