I was just going thru some of my old bookmarks and found a cool site i forgot about. Most of you probably know about this site. You can type in a url address and see how the site looked liked in the past. The address is http://www.archive.org/index.html

Doesn't it make you cringe to see your old sites?

Before buying any new domain name I always check Arhive.org to see if was in existance before. This serves two purposes. One, if the site was recently let go, it may already have traffic being generated for this site. Two, I want to know if there was an existing company. If there was an existing company, I do a little investigating to see if closed due to financial or legal problems. I don't want to enherit another companies problems!

I was checking some old shopping sites. Its funny how many of those merchants don't exist anymore.

This link has been posted a few times here and it's always fun to see sites you are familar with.

Check out CJ.com Oct.12 1999:

One of the stats there ...

Uh-oh, here we go again.

How about Befree from 1997.

Or a 1996 edition of the TigerDirect site

Or ABestWeb circa 2001

Hey, I found my first website, from 1997:
Quirk!.

Too bad most of the images are gone - I had a couple of fun, really rinky-dink (on purpose) graphics going on.

"best viewed with Netscape 3.0" - ugh! What was I thinking???
