    Question key word questions??
Lets say for instance I sell widgets. I've got all types, sizes, and colors of said widgets. I've also got several pages of widgets on website.

Now, I'm optimizing my widget pages and start choosing keywords or phrases. After I'm finished, I've used the word "widget" nearly 50 times in my keyword list ie. large blue widget, blue widget, large red widget, red widget, small widget, small red widget, etc.

My question is do the search engines frown upon this as keyword stuffing or anything negative by using the word "widget" so many times.

    Thanks,
    Joey

If you're talking about the meta keyword tag, I honestly don't think it matters much. I've done the same before on various sites, and they seem to be doing well. This tag is not very important to the SEs.

I've also done the same within the body of the page, and those pages have done very well, as long as the keyword density is within reason (roughly 5-10%).

This is just my experience so far...

    Thanks Money,

This was the plan, I'll do the density check.

    Thanks,

First density check was 11.76%. I'll try to pare it down with diluting content.

Wouldn't worry too much about that - it's when it gets spammy and looks silly (20%+) you need to worry

Just make the page useful and readable for users and you should be fine. As long as you aren't doing something spammy you should be fine.

Exactly what Scott said. If you use the keyword 50% of the time it really doesn't matter if your content is written correctly. Write for users, not search engines!

If someone is writing an article with 50% keyword density...can you imagine how readable it might be..not to mention how well the SE's will take it?

Agreed, but if it was readable, who cares what the percentage is! That's my point anyway....

    How Dense?
Quick keyword density tip: Search for your keyword/key phrase and look at the top SERPs. Then, do a quick density analysis on those sites/pages and use that as a guide.
