How much do your sales spike in December?
I am curious what everyone else sees in December. I am a retail products affiliate so December for me is about 4x a normal month.

For some of my sites (related to holiday gifts) it's 10x a normal month.
The worse I'm seeing for sites not related to December sales, it's 2X.

Like Zeus said, the effect depends on the site. My web site for teachers doesn't see much spike at all in December (activity tends to drop off since most teachers aren't working on lesson plans, though I do see some unusual sales as teachers buy stuff for their own Christmas gifts).

Not surprisingly, my calendar sale activity (mostly PPC-driven) spikes dramatically, with 35% to 45% of total annual sales occurring in December (including respectable sales during the week after Christmas).

My "product-oriented" sites (passively drawing traffic only from natural search) tend to see a moderate surge in activity and sales in December, probably 2x to 3x average monthly activity. My hunch is that they would spike more if other affiliates weren't being so aggressive with PPC campaigns during the holiday season -- but I can only focus my own PPC efforts on a limited group of product categories.

    depends on your product.
travel, it kind of flattens off (except if you are in flight/tickets)
sports/personalized gifts (we saw about a 5-8times increase over average month -based on my previous work)
electronics gifts (we saw about a 8-10 times increase over average month -based on my previous work)

Our main niche, payday loans, more than doubles throughout the holidays.

Pharmacy sales actually spike a little during December, versus November, maybe 20 - 25% increase. But really surges the beginning of the year.

Membership enrollment in our dating / people matching site surges Dec - March, then levels out during April - goes up again May - June, then levels out through November.

Our newest affiliate program that we will announce in a couple weeks has been a good performer year round the past two years, even though it is not a holiday type item.

    Enjoy the December windfall gang!

Being primarily a travel/hospitality affialte, my sales tend to drop from late October through mid-December. I will see a spike for New Years reservations and then it will drop again until late January. Although I have already been seeing several "summer vacation" bookings. Last week I had three really nice ones for next July. (WooHoo!)

Although I have been diversifying over the last year (hence my presence here at ABestWeb) and have seen a small increase in a couple of my retail-oriented sites. I am hoping that by "next" season I will be ready for a nice (significant) uptick in sales.

    Good luck to all...
