I have a very long affiliate link and I heard its good to use redirects instead of having the long affiliate link show up in your ad copy. What is the best way for a newb to do this? I came across this site http://www.ngvt.com/ but I'm not sure if its safe to use and says "Hide Your Real Links" in the browser tab.

    Thanks for the help

Where is this ad copy? Are you talking about a link placed on your site? If not, it depends on where you are putting the ad.

Ad copy for paid search. Example:

    Buy Widgets
    Free shipping on all widgets
    www.affiliatelinkXXXXXXXXXXX

I would like my affiliate link to be shorter and look like a normal site since people probably won't click my add since the URL shown is clearly an affiliate link.

I assume you are talking about Yahoo Search Marketing because on Google AdWords and MSN AdCenter there is a field for display URL.

I'm not exactly sure what the best method for that would be. Maybe purchase a .info domain (they are like $1) and set it to forward to your affiliate URL?

    Anyone else have any input?

I think what PSU4Life is trying to say is that when a visitor ROLLS over a text link, the visitor sees the ugly affiliate link at the bottom of the browser. I think she wants to make her affiliate link...(this is a fake example link) http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?af=3475858 look like this http://www.psu4life.com/widgets. I see affiliates do this all the time. Not sure how/what methodology they use.

    Hope this clarifies.
