    Google And Pushing Firefox 2.0
I took off my Google toolbar over a month ago and just yesterday and today when I go to the Google home page I see this at the top:

Google recommends upgrading to the new, safer Firefox 2.0.

Just wondering if others are seeing the same thing or have they been doing this for awhile?

Think it's a good move on their part and I can think of many reasons why.

With IE7, MSN is the default search engine in the browser. In my Firefox Google is the default. Don't remember if it came that way or I put in that way.

Also with Vista coming up, still have to see what MSN does to promote their search.

I didn't notice it in safari, it seems they're marketing firefox only to windows users.

I just happened to notice it yesterday, but I rarely use IE so I'm not sure how long it's been there.

I'm quite happy to see this. I've been running Firefox since the 0.xx days when it was known as Firebird (anyone remember that?!)

I'm still on IE 6 too since I can't upgrade to IE7 with my main computer. It must be something new, not sure if it's just showing for people without the toolbar or with it too. I also had a message yesterday pushing the Google toolbar.

Yeah, they're starting the push, this is the other one I'm seeing:

Put a Google search box in your browser. Download Google Toolbar.

Get that everytime I open a new browser and go to the Google homepage.

Incidentally, the Overture (Yahoo) Keyword Selection tool has been increasingly hard to access for quite a while now. I can't access it at all with IE, it just times out (in spite of pinging just fine), but can (though slow) with Opera.

Actually they're pushing IE too, saw this just now:

Google recommends upgrading to the NEW, safer Internet Explorer 7
