    Help: Cookie Exchange
Alright guys, I have a cookie exchange tomorrow and have to magically come up with 10 dozen somethings. Right now, I'm thinking butterscotch haystacks, (love those and they're quick), but I could use some other suggestions!!

    Jeebus. 120 haystacks. That's a lotta hay.
    best,
    Carolyn

Thumbprints - buy the sugar dough - drop it out, make a thumbprint and bake
Then fill the thumbprint with jam or my preference: frosting! white with sparkles

Find one of Judi's thumbprint cookies, make a mold from the impression, scan the mold, use a high quality silica compound with a laser etching system to create a perfect replica of the thumbprint and then bypass the thumbprint reader Judi has securing her documents and steal her identity to at last become RULER OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

    ...

or ahhhh, just eat the cookies. Maybe with a dollop of rasberry or strawberry jam under the frosting for an extra special treat.

    mmmmmmmm cookies.

Been away, now I'm back. Not as much, but I'm back & starting from scratch. Where I was, was fantastic. Where I am now, less so. Things have changed, become harder. So have I. Game ON!!!

    Ginger snaps! Simple but excellent.

I made these for a cookie exchange last weekend. They were delicious.

You make the cookie base (http://food.realsimple.com/realsimpl...ipe_id=1564707) and customize it with the ginger snap recipe (http://food.realsimple.com/realsimpl...ipe_id=1564749).

They are real easy to make (they are from Real Simple, com on!) and if you use fresh ginger you get a bonus (and they taste much better!)

Carolyn, presentation is 50% of the deal so wrap whatever you bake or buy with really pretty white & gold glittered tissue paper and tie it off with a gorgeous gold ribbon and whatever you bring will be perceived as awesome. :-)

Fudgy brownies, spread thin, cut in perfect squares and then in half so they are triangles - dusted with a hint of powdered gold or silver - I mean powdered sugar.

Just make sure they are at least 30-day cookies. 15-day are not acceptable.

LOL, good one. Just finished. There was a fire on michigan avenue, delaying my commute home by a half an hour, so, ended up making 120 butterscotch haystacks. (Though, found the cutest cookie on Rex's site for oreo mice, will have to do those for another holiday party).

I am so sick of butterscotch now.

OOOOOOoooooooooooooooo Carolyn, the Oreo mice are awesome! I wanted to suggest those but didn't want to post a link. Should have sent it via email but you found it so I'm reassured I don't have to spell everything out to you. :-)

Carolyn, you had no need to be concerned, the Haystacks were AWESOME. Much better than me, who didn't even make cookies for her own Cookie Exchange. Next year, the oreo mice sound good though.
