I just went to log into my account and it says my account has been deactivated. What would cause this and without notice?

Yikes Gen - has a sale gone through your account in the past 6 months? If not, CJ will deactivate your account. If you have to, buy something through your links to keep it active before this happens again.

    Horses and customers
Well criminey, I didn't realize that (I'm fairly new to affiliating, and what I may have read about being deactivate because of no sales, I've long forgot about it). But you know customers are like horses, you can lead them to water but you can't make them drink. Funny thing my visitor count on my site has sky rocketed in the past 2 weeks ::

But now what do I do?

    Thanks for answering.

See if you can sweet talk them into reactivating the account. Usually they don't but a few have been able to do it, saves everybody a lot of time.

Well, I did write to them, of course haven't heard back yet, since it was just a few hours ago.

I was on my way to open another account, however. . .didn't know whether to sign up under another email address, name, store name, etc. since the URL's (several sites) will be the same. Again, it is hard to be fairly new to something and don't know all the ins and outs.

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.

Without going in to details, I will say this:

There is no way in hell that after a few years of getting sales, I would ever get a new account on anywhere, just because I have not had a sale for the last 6 months on any network.

Specially on any network on were my commissions, may be tampered with by parasites promoted there!

They probably went home for the weekend. I would try first thing Monday calling them: 800-761-1072 it's worth a shot.

The Commission Junction customer service, at least by email, has never been good for me. It has been terrible. Don't wait on them. Go to another network or find a way to sign up again quickly (or maybe call them.)

just make sure if you do a purchase, you might want to make sure that your merchant allows you to buy from your own site. I forget which one I saw but they have a rule about buying from the links on your site.

Good luck with it, if you don't have much links and sites to manage then creating a new account is pretty easy and will mean you can get those links up now for the busiest time of the year and you might get a few sales. I wouldn't sit around waiting, go get em!

Out of curiosity, were you in our program?

This weekend, the number of affiiates droped substantially, however our performance was incredible and is still growing. I am thinking this might be the reason for the drop in affiliate numbers, but I am wondering if other merchants have seen a drop in affiliate numbers but performance remains good, because CJ might have expired their accounts.
