GPS Systems For Cars - Recommendations
For anybody that has one or for a merchant that sells them, any good ones for around $300 or less? Is Garmin the best brand? Thanks.

I think that Garmin at about $399 is the best way to go. I have a Palm with GPS software that I use that works great, but the screen is bigger on the freestanding Garmin unit. For marine use, Lowrance is the way to go.
I was looking at these over the weekend and Amazon had about the best price on the Garmin. I think it was $339 but I am not certain.

I've a Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS Navigational System on all my cars not equiped by the manufacturer with a GPS and I love it.
It saves my life several times.
I used the Garmin all around the world, you need an additional module for Europe.
It's more than $300 but worth the money.
I'm a boy scout and I love to find my way with a map and the sun but once you get hook to that, you can't come back to your compass.
Look at Overstock, It's $600 but still a good deal

There is also a way to put GPS on your laptop and use that screen. That is next for me in the motorhome. It will be great to have a screen that size.

Can it talk with your girlfriend voice, too? I'm for that.

We're getting one, I think it costs a little over $500. I had already done my Christmas shopping, already had stuff for my dad. Then my brother IM's me wanting to go 50/50 on one. Spending a lot overall this Christmas.
