    UnbeatableSale not showing RC toys
I replaced other GC merchants this Holiday season with UnbeatableSale for showcasing the huge selection of discounted RC Toys for Christmas. Low and behold they all disappeared from the GC category displays leaving my shoppers looking at 2 similar airplanes.... what's up wit dat? Their site still has a a wide selection of cars, trucks, planes, boats etc.

    Thank you for the post.

We have requested information from the merchant in regards to the missing RC Toys.

As soon as we have more information, we will post another reply.

    Thank you,

How is UnbeatableSale as a merchant in terms of conversion and service? I've recently been propositioned by them and I'd like to find out a little more about them.

Any particular type of item or just about everything? I do price comparison, so low prices are very key in my situation.

Thanks for the prompt action as Unbeatablesale probably missed out on hundreds of thousand of dollar in toy sale this Holiday shopping season. If it isn't in GC ... it also isn't in CJ feeds or individual product links.

The other thing missed by those blinded by an advertising mindset regarding online product sales/merchandising is that imaging is 70% of the CTR factor. It's about time Asif at GoldenCan puts his foot down a demand a standard optimized thumbnail size before he accepts a merchant into his program. After all GoldenCan is about customer facing product sales merchandising. Many here cannot put up GC merchant displays as their thumbnail images suck big time. All GSI goldencan merchants, and many others fall into this category, as the submit no thumbnail and images from 300-600 pixel widths. Merchandising them through Goldencan with crummy unclear thumbnails isn't effective.

take Unbeatablesales see how they optimize their own sites thumbnails at a 90 pixel width... http://www.unbeatablesale.com/racoto.html

now their product page image is 300 pixel wide and helps sell the RC car.

They submit one size image to GC in a 200 pixel width. GC's rendering this down to a 90 pixel width thumbnail trashes this image and places a page load penality verses even a 130 pixel wide thumbnail. The smaller pixel width reduction the more distorted they become...
200 pixel width. Now go set GC image width to 90 pixel width and view results for all GSI merchants, Unbeatablesale and your other choices.

Put your foot down Asif and demand a standard size 120 pixel width thumbnail from all your GC merchants and you and the GC affiliates will make more commissions in 2007. GC is a merchant priviledge as some of those BHO infested Adwhore programs suck for all non-incentive affiliates. No affiliates using GC showcase creatives can play the SERP, browser or e-mail spam game with them. So throw some merchandising expertise into their Advertising internship or let them push the mental midgit one liner coupons and Adwords Ads.

Snib, you do electronics price comparison right? I'm not agressively promoting electronics yet, but I have dabbled in digital cameras, camcorders, electronics peripherals and computer peripherals. I have not seen a competitive price yet, and I too am doing price comparison.

Quite obviously the UnbeatableSale team, and many other GC merchants, could care less about how their showcase thumbnail and large images display to motivate shopper clicks. Just take a look at that messed up miss match of product images on their default product display. they threw in some large wide pictures with some only 48 pixel wide for their intro products. NONE are anywhere near their top sellers. Try a common width setting like 130 pixel's and their 48 pixel width dog shampoo bottles look like their were from a real firesale. Melted!

Put your foot down Asif in 2007 on merchants providing your and US with a usable thumbnail size and reasonable max width full size image. I'd say 80% of my clicks go through GC displays. My income, since arranging my sites to produce that stat. has plummeted at least 90%. GC users can demand some fine tuning before they demand new features. Only meaningful addition to drive affiliates to GC in 2007 would be for Asif to bite the bullet and start publishing the EPC of each of his merchants. (bullet biting when some showup as complete waste of GC traffic, and he righteously kicks them to the curb)

Give You a hint of fine tuning by looking at EPC and GC clicks together. You have a GC 4th click merchant called Boutique OhLaLa on ShareaSale who isn't setting cookies or reporting clicks via the GoldenCan script. I had 2 major Casino Giftshop owners who loved their GC displays and skirt products. High volume casino giftshop had me set up a GC showcase for them. They were going to order some samples for the shop, but after 3 weeks of no clicks or impressions ( even though they made many themselves at their online counter computer with regular customers Big Roller Hotties clicking the buy buttons) no sales reported ...no clicks reported and therefore my recommended merchant was a crook in their eyes.

No more GC displays in the MGM or Mandalay Bay casino giftshop linked sections of their web sites in 2007 as my test project for the sugar daddies (designer purses, shirts. And Madison Ave furs) failed the realtime Christmas test. Just checked ShareaSale and Boutique Ohlala flatlined their EPC 2 week ago.

If the GC merchant can't provide standardized image sizes and get transparent on reporting with a published EPC it's time for Asif to get out the weed whacker. Yours is the only creative tool the scumbag affiliates can't spam with... 100% physical clicks from their own viewable pages. Start with that premise/promise and place a higher bar on entry into the wonderful spam free world of GC in 2007.
