You sure you want to open an account with 2checkout beware. I'd go with a real merchant account if you want to use 2checkout unless you have bad credit.

PM me what you mean, Mike... I'd highly appreciate it.

BTW, no need to send me a link anymore. davidh has already sent me one. Thanks, David.

Geno, you know with 2checkout, the customers are not yours- but theirs, right?

Also once you do over $1000 a month, the percent they take normally means it works better to get a lower % from a dedicated processor and eat the fees. Crunch the numbers, 2checkout is only good for small things, or companies that can't get a merchant account.

Chet, thank you for your feedback. I did do the numbers crunching, and I am fine with their fees at this stage (for the project I am planning on using them for). Also, the customer retaining isn't that important for this particular project... Any other drawbacks, anyone?

Well the other drawback, a major one if you are doing real money, but less so on small projects is cash flow. They sit on your money for 15 days and then a percent of that for I believe 90 (i think it is 5 or 10%). Back when we used them, we also found the reporting horrible.

Their reporting is horrible and their CS is horrible. They sit on your money forever.

Customers can easily get their money back just by calling them. The customer is always right with them they don't check to see if items were shipped and or delivered. They just want to avoid a charge back so they side with the customer 110% of the time.

Sounds like my experience with CCNow.

CCNow is exactly like 2checkout, I stoped using them both before I had a problem.

Heck I would go with paypal over 2CO at this point, and I think paypal is the devil.

I think I am going to chuckle everytime you post that somewhere on the board. I did apply over at charge.com from your suggestion... let's see how it all comes out.

I'd have to say the same about 2CO - their interphase is confusing and it's a pain when you want them to pay you - they do tend to sit on your money for a long time - and it takes FOREVER to get any sort of support if you encounter difficulties.

I'd go with Paypal over 2CO any day.

Thank you for your feedback, guys! Much appreciated. I might end up going with PayPal.

Thanks again for the heads up!
