What a sweet story. That is one lucky lady to have such a smart and devoted dog. I bet he gets lots of treats and hugs when she gets home from the hospital.

Good dog. "German shepherd-golden retriever mix" sounds like a "breed" genetically predestined to be smart!!

My own dog (the sweetest and most gorgeous bull terrier Teddy) died a bit over a month ago...

I've heard people jokingly saying: "the more I know dogs, the more I despise people". That's a joke, but there is some good truth in it. They never lie, never cheat, and they will never betray...

    One huge dog-lover,

    Geno

Oh, Geno - so sorry about Teddy. We lost our schnauzer Abby on Oct 31st, but totally against our own common sense we have 10 month old Maggi taking over our hearts and house. Right now she and the cat are wrestling under the Christmas tree. I have to keep all the presents stacked on the piano.

Eric great story... thanks for posting it. Sandstone is deadly dangerous with a thin layer of ice. Choked me up a bit as I am a dog lover, too (we have two rescued working dogs one from a sheep herd (kuvasz) and the other is a lab/Australian shepherd mix -cattle dog)

Geno, Sorry to hear about your dog.

The live interview this AM was really moving.

I have a cat at the moment but I think I am going to go for a dog when I get a house.
