Unhappy Quake cuts off much of Asia Internet
Internet and phone services have been disrupted across much of Asia after an earthquake damaged undersea cables, leaving one of the world's most tech-savvy regions in a virtual blackout.

From frustrated traders seeking in vain for stock quotes to anxious newshounds accustomed to round-the-clock updates on world events, millions of people from China to Japan to Australia were believed to have been affected.

Quake cuts off much of Asia Internet
    Headlines:

Quake cuts off much of Asia Internet: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/061227/1/45o3v.html

Internet access in Singapore severely affected by Taiwan quake: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/061227/5/singapore249388.html

Some access works from Singapore: ABW is slow but accessible, but feedburner is dead.

CJ links, LS links, CB links are not working (timing out), neither are the main sites from CJ, LS and CB. Both Google Adwords and Adsense are dead, too.

SAS is working, and so is Yahoo except mail.

My sites hosted on IPowerWeb and Site5 are accessible, including webmail. All others are not.

This will take some time to repair and it remains to be seenwhat the effect is, though I don't expect much damage to my sales as most come from the US and Europe which are not affected. The worst thing is that I can't see my stats, I will will learn to live with that...

    WordPress plugin affected
We noticed a word press plugin slowing down one particular blog. This Javascript plugin (coolplayer) did a call to China everytime it loaded. It tried to reach coolcode.cn. It slowed down the website to a crawl. We figured the coolcode site was down, or abandoned - we put two and two together this morning. It can't be reached because of the above news.

If you have that plugin on your wordpress install, you may want to disable it until this gets fixed.
