Red face I must be a heavy Sleeper (two years, two quakes and no wakes)
Two years ago I slept through the Earthquake that brought the Tsunami to the shores of Thailand and was felt all the way up in Bangkok... and this boxing day I was in Hong Kong where tremors were felt from the Taiwan quake...

The next day I went "virtually" blind deaf and dumb when I found that the Internet was ....dead.... I felt like someone had unplugged me from life support....panic set in....and then relief that of all the times for this to happen it was between Christmas and New Years....and I was on holiday....forced to.... well.... turn off the lap top

However before I flew back to Thailand I made a rapid number of calls to see how Thailand was effected and pondered on flying direct to Europe...but though Thailand uses some of the same cables that were damaged the speed connections seem pretty good...

A Belated Merry Christmas to everyone

    Cheers

Just glad to know you and your family are okay, sleepy or not.

I once lived in Alaska near Anchorage. Tremors all the time. I remember once when we were all at the dinner table (I was a kid then) and all the plates and cups went up in the air a few inches, then dropped right back in their place. I was more amazed than shocked at that age. Probably said something like, "Wow! Hope it does that again!"

Glad you're okay Chris. Very glad this one didn't result in a tsunami.

Glad your wife and kids had you all to themselves and that you had a nice time .....and were all safe I slept through a teeny little earthquake several years ago so I probably woulda slept through it, too.

pssst. hope you made sure to let Santa know where you were going before you left so he was able to find you. Hope he delivered everything all of you wanted, too.

Glad everything is ok with you.

I know about being a heavy sleeper, my mom used to like to clean my room early when I was a kid. My dad would come in, pick me up out of bed, and hold me while my Mom changed the sheets. Then he would put me back in bed and she would clean the rest of the room. The first time that happened I was, needless to say, freaked out when I woke up.

I've slept through part of a couple of heavy-hitting hurricanes too.
