We average 8 sales a day from 20 different merchants for months now.

But on Sept. 7th, we show a single sale. 1.

All other days of the month have been fine. Today (the 11th) we've already had 8, and even on the 2nd (Labor day) we had 5.

It could just be a fluke, but thought I'd ask. Anyone else notice something missing on Sept. 7th in the way of sales?

    Thank you.

    On my stats...things look normal.

It wasn't the best day, but by no means the worst - seemed normal.

I think you're ok. The stats I looked at show that tracking was fine. Saturdays are generally the slowest day of the week. Now if you generated thousands of sales per day and one day you only had a few dozen sales then you would have an good argument. However in this case we are only talking about 8 sales and with 20 different advertisers. It's not entirely out of the question to only generate 1 sale a day.

I realize this is just one day and in the world of affiliate marketing it is meaningless, but I had something similar yesterday (9/12). Nearly a record number of clicks and not a single sale from CJ merchants. Wow, that really blew me away. Hope this is not a new trend.

Maybe this is just the post summer syndrome...

I'm having my worst month since a long, long time.

almost every day i have sales, but august 31, september 1 & 2, plus september 9, 10 and 11 CJ reports NO sales in the stats.

on september 12 there were 5 sales.

so that looks alltogether somewhat STRANGE!

what do other CJ-affiliates think about this?

I've really gone back over this... For the past 4 months, we've never had less than 5 sales/leads per day, other than when CJ was down. We have maintained 190-250 sales per month. Without fail for 4 months, we've had 9-12 transactions per day the 2 weeks before the 7th and the week since the 7th.

Yes, I admit, it's theoretically possible that on the 7th, all my stars crossed and the ox gored the cart, but it sure looks (and feels) strange to me.

Well the 2nd was Labor Day and I would not consider that strange. Also same for the 11th. I'm sure many people had their minds someplace else. And frankly, I expected to see the same thing on our sites.

It's really not that unusual -- I have several independent merchants that I have a handful of sales for each and every day... and then suddenly, BLIP! No sales. Same traffic, but no sales. It's always startling when it happens, but the same thing occurs in brick and mortars.

I'd say crossed-stars are as good an explanation as any.

Yesterday was also a terrible day for me with CJ. It was excellent for another merchant I promote though. Perhaps KAZAA had a promotion... recommend a scumware day ...

I have just been looking at my Positiontech stats. They make depressing viewing lately, but they make especially tragic viewing for the 7th.

Its as if Inktomi wasn't working that day, and if you are in there, it might be the explanation.

Inktomi was indeed down for the count on the 7th and part of the 8th.

Also it did not recover all listings, if you are using it to flip pages into MSN, you may need to re-submit some.

Well at least that's some explanation. Yes, we get traffic from them of course. Kinda scary really.
