    Question Reversal Description = Compliance
Okay, this is new. Anyone else seen this or know what it's used for?

Here's the history for this transaction:

    55xxxxx46 $79.95 USD $8.00 USD 19-Nov-2006 23:00 PST
    57xxxxx13 ($79.95) USD ($8.00) USD 11-Jan-2007 13:15 PST Compliance
    57xxxxx76 $0.00 USD $0.00 USD 12-Jan-2007 06:30 PST Compliance

As you can see I made a sale on 11/19/06. It was reversed on 1/11/07 for "compliance" and then a null transaction occurred on 1/12/07 also for "compliance."

Before I spend a lot of time annoying the AM for this merchant and also CJ I wondered if anyone else knows anything about it.

    YOU... MUST... COMPLY!!!

LOL, I've gotten a few of those over the years, generally about as useful a description as "Other" or "Unqualified Lead" tends to be.

Thanks for the reply. When CJ invokes the word "compliance" it always makes me twitchy. They seem to think it's the Eleventh Commandment.

I'll just sit here quietly and see if the Spanish Inquisition shows up I guess.

I never had a reversal for "Compliance" It's not enough information, just something to make you wonder about the merchant using it without contacting you first with a full explanation. Compliance doesn't mean anything in CJ mouth.

I have had that before and it was always something inocuous: Invalid Credit Card or Duplicate Transaction. If it is the latter, it could be because they are running programs on another network or in house and the other aff should have got the sale. I doubt it is really for "compliance".

Turns out the Spanish Inquisition has been defanged.

I heard back from the merchant about those two reversals. Would you believe the merchandise was returned? They didn't give me a very good explanation as to why "compliance" was used as a reason but apparently they understand that I did nothing wrong. And I kind of got the idea that they were trying to pin the poor choice of reasons on CJ.

    Whatever.
