Free webhosting with Fantastico and small advertising
Anyone know any free webhosts that offer fantastico scripts, with very little advertising on each page? thanks for the help :0). I checked out http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/ but most of them require posts on there forum...

    Thanks Haiko
Thanks Haiko, for the help, I'm actually thinking of getting a webhost and domain at http://www.siteground.com/fantastico-hosting.htm for the 4.95, anyone know how reliable this service is? and if it's worth the 4.95 a month.

Thanks everyone for the Help, Glad to be back :0)

If you are looking for really cheap hosting, you might take a look at dayanahost.
I've used them for a couple of 'mini-sites' for over a year now. They start at $1.25 month. Little or no down-time and includes standard features like php, etc.

$1.25 plan is only 10MB disk space so obviously it would'nt work for anything but a small site.

10MB might not cut it for some of the Fantastico installs he's looking at. Wordpress and Joomla both exceed that I think.

You can run a search on "siteground" at webhostingtalk.com, there are many reviews and experiences on there. Here's a snippet of one that caught my eye in particular:

"Siteground instituted a new policy of 7-support tickets a year"

The post is from Sept/Oct, you better research their TOS and verify if this info still holds true.

I wonder when the era of free and nearly free unlimited everything hosts will end? this make just negative impression on web hosting in general, if the company is solid it can have the rate 3,99 but as a minimal rate only and pricing should strat from this point
