All,

As we continue to grow, We need to streamline for effectiveness and usability. It has been suggested that we regroup the forums as follows:

Linkshare
---Linkshare
---BareNecessities
---ColdWaterCreek
---Overstock
---Mondera
---Estyle

Commission Junction
---Commission Junction
---123inkjets
---BackCountryStore
---GoCollect
---JCWhitney

BeFree
---Befree
---OneTravel
---TigerDirect

As opposed to having the Ad network forum and then the private merchants forum. I personally Love the idea, but I'd like to get feedback from our members before a final decision was made.

I plan on adding In-House also, I wanted to show the layout without getting to cumbersome in the explanation.

I guess mine is the only 'no' vote. LOL. My thinking is this: having all the merchant forums together as they are allows new visitors to find good merchants quickly ( I guess these are good merchants, right !). If you hide them away under each network, they are less visible to the new member and I think this diminishes their importance. It also shouldn't matter which network they belong to.

Imagine your just getting into affiliate marketing, you find this board and read the consensus opinion on the networks. You will assume that BeFree is rubbish, LinkShare are useless and CJ are OK. The way it is set up now allows individual merchants with their own forums to stand or fall on their own merits. However, if you associate them with their networks, this is no longer the case.

Having said that, I think the order of the forums on the home page probably does need changing. My suggestion is move the merchants forums up the list, and put the 'search engine insight' forum at the top. Well, maybe not the last bit.

I thought about that too Marky and Cedric; then I thought about this: how many times have I seen a merchant here who I wanted to join, but didn't know which network and was too shy to want to look stupid asking

Eaglefire, all the merchant forums have direct links through to their 'join now' page - so it is pretty easy to find out.

I do agree that a bit of reorganization is needed, but don't think this is the best option.

I love the idea!

And if being associated with a particular network is interfering with a merchant's reputation, perhaps it's time for them to ditch their current network and go for a better one.

Well ... its done

Now the next Question ...

Should we have only the categories on the Front page?

It would look like ....

... I would add descriptions and links under each category.

Thoughts?

YES, but use sub headers.

e.g.

Network
merchant1, merchant2, merchant3 (with smaller font)

>>Should we have only the categories on the Front page?<<

No no no no no no no...

I open 85 windows from the list that is currently provided and never ever ever look at the "main section" pages...

This change would be a pain in the butt for me and therefore, I don't think you should do it.

Wouldn't the Active Topics Serve you better?

I think the FP is a big Large now.

Yeah, the FP is kinda large but I'm with Cedric, I dont wanna go thru the pain of getting in and out of each forum. Unless the list of individual forums for each merchant gets really huge Maybe use the suggestion of Wayder?

Make the all the merchants have to post their monthly conversion ratios (ave. clicks to produce one sale) to get a forum like Overstock and ColdWater Creek did. This would releive the clutter and help recruit as hundreds of them ponder a place at ABW.
