    Backwards links and Google
On the Google tool bar next to Page rank is a small arrow that brings up the option to search for any sites that link to that site (Backwards Links). when I do this to my own sites it brings 1 or 2 "Backward" links. All of my sites have lots of quality, content related links coming into my site that do not show up. All of these incoming links come from sites with a page rank of 3 or better. Does this mean Google is only giving me credit for the links that "Backwards Links" Tool displays?

I just tried it -- didn't realize they'd added it.

saw typical results of a link: command. PRs of 2 and more on pages linking to the page I worked from.

that is probably the case but consider that PR for the bar comes from only one of their servers, I think. and PR may not be their hottest project, either.

a PR of, say, 6 or 7 is nice but not the end of the world if your site doesn't achieve it.

what your visitors experience is much more important. and it is possible some of that can be monitored by the SEs.

I just tried it, too. I see most of my backlinks that were expected, some new ones that provided nice one way links to my site and....a site copier discovered! I found a page on this other site that has directly copied content of one of my pages. The copied content includes a link back from a PR5 page. Hmmm. Should I keep the PR5 backlink or start filing DMCA's? The downside is there is a mailto: link on that page, too.
