I was wondering if anyone is an affiliate of christianbook.com. So far I sent about 400 clicks, 1 sale with a .96 commission. I don't know if this is bad or what. What are your thoughts on them?

I don't use them but you probally could do a lot better with Amazon. Do some looking around and you will find they have a nice selection of Christian books and calendars.

I have Christianbook.com as an affiliate and do well with them. 1:400 is a pretty poor conversion rate though. Are you sending them traffic thru direct product links or from general links? I find that if the product is pre-sold I do very well with conversion ratios.

I use a mixture of general and product links. What ind of conversion do you get with just product links?

I convert about 1:10 with direct links, but you have to take that with a grain of salt since mostly what I do with them is from a long running opt-in list of pastors and sunday school administrators.

My general feeling though is if you are able to pre-sell the product you should do much better than you are now. CBD is a nice site and their prices are on-par with amazon, and better in some cases

What do you mean by pre sell the products? Could you clarify that a bit. Thanks a lot for the help.

Pre-sell around here means that the affiliate types some copy explaining the merchant and his recomendation on their site and products. The individual product links also have some text hilighting some of the books contents rather than just a title.
