    Question Need Reverse IP/DNS options
Can anyone recommend a free reverse IP/DNS service that gives a full listing of sites on a server?

I have been using domaintools.com but they are now limited to 3 results unless you pay.

Hey, Michelle. I posted this on an earlier thread: http://tomdns.net/get_hostonip.php

it'll list a good number of hosts on an shared IP. Have fun!

A couple of issues you might want to take into consideration when figuring out how many sites are on a server in realtime:

    1. I'd be surprised if you could, in realtime, find out all of the sites on a server. This is all subject to the DNS system which itself has a time delay for updates.

    2. A server can have umpteen IP addresses so when you are looking up all of the sites on an IP address all you will be looking up is the number of sites on a sharded IP address, not the number of sites on a server. Those would be two different numbers.

Absolutely right. You can't tell how many sites are on a server unless you have root access to that server, but you can at least get an idea (usually) what types of sites are being hosted.
