Just got an email from Amazon. They've lowered the Free Shipping offer from $49 to $25 to get the free shipping. They say this will run from 3 to 6 months. So all you guys who are running Amazon on your sites may want to check out this offer out. Hopefully this will run through the holiday season.

Yeah, I saw that one. My sales have sky rocketed since they started the $49 shipping special. Hope their servers can handle the load as the shoppers come back from vacation and drop little bookies into their shopping basket to make the $25 minimum for free shipping! Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent email left on the planet.

Yeah, it sure is nice. I am so happy because I just got my first sale at amazon. The order was for $40 so my commission was $2. Yipee!!! I am just getting into affiliate marketing. :-)

Thanks Gordon and Webmistress. I know I will make many more. Especially after all the help I receive at these forums.

So that's what happened to my Amazon sales. This quarter is my worst ever and last quarter was my best ever.

I don't know whether to be excited or disappointed with this turn of events. Certainly sales went up when the free shipping went to $49 as people strived to add more stuff to their cart to get over the threshold. This new change could work one of two ways:

    1) it could increase sales as more people make the effort to get over the new low threshold.

    2) it could decrease sales as now the threshold is easier to meet, meaning that people who are adding stuff just to take advantage of free shipping now have to buy $20 less of merchandise to get there.

Ultimately of course it will work both ways. On some customers we'll make more because of the switch and on some customers we'll make less. The question is which of these elements will be the more prominent and whether we'll do better in the end. Stay tuned...
