    Scrabble?

    http://www.internetretailer.com/article.asp?id=21298

Why is that big in November? Holidays or something? I don't normally see that one in there.

Internet Retailer is one of the best sites/magazines out there, especially for those in this business.

    Drunken Scrabble
I'm down for some Scrabble in Miami... Especially Drunken Scrabble...
I remember (sort of) attempting to create "Drinking Scrabble" at one party I went to. I believe that the rules boiled down to:

    1. If you score less then ten points on your turn, you have to take 10 - your score drinks. So if you play a word that gets you 2 points, you have to take 8 drinks of your beverage.

    2. If you score 10 or more, you divide your score by three and can distribute that many drinks to your opponents. So if you scored 36, you can distribute 12 drinks around the table to whomever you please. (ie. if you're playing 4 people, you can make each person take 3 drinks of their beverage, or make one of them take 12, or two people take 6 drinks, etc).

Vocabulary and alcohol don't mix very well. You quickly run out of the "S's" and "H's" for spelling words like "licorish" (licorice) and "taksheecab" (taxicab) or anything else you can drunkenly slur.

    Unbelievable!

Makes no sense to me - I play scrabble a lot, but I've only ever searched for it once to find a list of two letter words to print out.

Scrabble makes my brain itch. I'm more of a Chutes and Ladders kinda guy

If we are to play drunken scrabble we should limit it to four-letter words and give double points for the dirty ones.

    "Go scrabble!"

Hmmm, sounds like a polite expletive.

LOL, I used to keep a list of high-scoring scrabble words tacked to my cube just above my phone. I'm going to have to get that out again if we've got something going in Miami!

That has to be a good thing when you think about it...people playing with words rather than games with guns, etc. I can find myself addicted to Litterati if I am not careful.

Yeah - maybe we could challenge Al Queda and the Talliban to a winner takes all scrabble game! As they are not allowed to play games, we'd have a huge advantage- unless they decide to blow up the game...

Might need a bit of professional help there.

Huked on Fonix werkd fer me.

Seriously, I love Scrabble. In our younger days we used to play into the "wee" hours every weekend. Now I just tend to fall asleep...

I'm just about to make a hotel reservation for Miami; and a little Scrabble competition might be something to look forward to.
