How much does Consultant make for a living?
I wish I can be an expert in the Affiliate Business. Well, I am making my first steps - baby steps that is! It would take a long way for me to be a consultant - but I wonder, how much does a consultant make - aside from his earning from his/her affiliate business?

Six figures is common enough and seven isn't unheard of, but you have to know your stuff and be willing (and able) to deal with clients that can be needy, stupid, self-important, delusional and/or just annoying, not to mention that false sense of entitlement many seem to foster. The money isn't always worth it (IMHO)...

Then again, the opinions of a reformed consultant need to be taken with a grain of salt.

    Best of luck!

Strangers ask me all the time if I make money online. "Do you really make money doing that?" "How are you doing with that?" I just look at them like they have three heads. There is something about "online" that people think it should be common knowledge. The bottom line is we are all here doing a little hobby that keeps us busy. Just something to do... LOL! Long as we can pay our webhosting we are all set.

FoxyAsian, the average consultant in this field earns $390,000 per year, in addition to income from his affiliate business.

I arrived at this figure through careful analysis of ABW posts, as well as a variety of internet web sites and surveys, along with some comments I overheard at a conference, plus some speculation by my stockbroker and my dog-walker, and finally by making the number up from absolutely no data whatsoever.

consultants have clients with expectations and needs, better to be an affiliate - it means more freedom. that said, i do consulting, but i'm very, very, very picky about who i work with.

as for how much it pays, that's just too broad a question to answer even if i wanted to share. i will say that in a pay-for-performance environment, i expect each hour i invest in a client to yield at least $500 at the very minimum. if someone wants to pay me by the hour, even $500/hour, i refuse it because hourly pay limits my income as well as limits the client's success because i'm not driven to keep improving (when someone's counting my minutes or capping what my work is worth). when a client and I do pay-for-performance, it doesn't mean everything always works to everyone's satisfaction, but when it does, it becomes a very substantial amount of money for me and even more so, in terms of revenue and profit, for my client.

    >>$390,000 per year

Is that before or after taxes?
