I've often wondered how many web sites each one of us has up and running. I hear people say, "only 3 or 4 of my sites makes any serious money."

Tell us how many sites (those with affiliate links) that you currently have.

Yeah, from what I hear from some of these people I was worried the "20" number might be a drop in the bucket. It was really hard to come up with the ranges, but I know there are lots of newbees here as well as the pros.

In any case, I thought it would be fun to see the results.

I just threw "not enough" up there because I have around 5 sites (not all AM sites) but I really want to get a few more up (AM mostly and maybe one content).

I've got three on the drawing board (one nearly ready to go) but I can't (and won't) spend all my time on a puter.

I guess it depends exactly how much content is required to make a site a "site"...

I have 7 sites that are definitely real sites, a couple of in-betweens and half a dozen 1-2 page mini-sites. More coming soon...

I have only one of my own, but three that I do for other people. I'd rather just have four of my own. Like today. It's 3:00 a.m., and I haven't had any time to work on my site today because I've been working on other people's.

Fire your clients, Tracy.

I'd also want a "too many" option. "How did I get here?"

If there's no content at all, but you're simply redirecting a domain name to an affiliate program then that's a domain name not a site. In other words, if you're not hosting any HTML it's not a site...

If you've got a page set up that says "Click here for cars" (or whatever) and you're sending that traffic to an affiliate program, that's enough IMO to qualify as a (mini-)site.

It's the exact boundary between site and mini-site that I can never really pin down

7-days, if you want to read some more input on this, I started a thread with an almost identical subject line back around May. IMHO it was a good thread - alot of great answers - so you might want to run a search for it.

I would clarify by saying that a site is a domain name that you own, no matter how many pages it has. For example, I own 20+ domains, but only 6 have affiliate links on them so I used 6 as my number.

What Webmistress said. You will never look back. Nothing beat actually sleeping at 3AM, waking up at 7, and finding out you've made your daily target before your first cup of coffee.

When I worked at a web design company, before the ax fell, I could work on 20 sites a day easy...we had hundreds of clients and after a day of working on all those other sites, designing, coding, adding content, etc, working on my own sites wasn't an option...now that I don't do that all day long, I have more energy to put into my own sites when I get home and more ideas than I know what to do with

I have a hard time believing that only 4 people have only one site. I would think the vast majority of us would only have one site.

I own 41 sites, planning to get upto the 100 mark by the end of the first quater of next year

started just 12 months back, but each new site I build, gets me more and more revenue (all are affiliate revenue sites) so I build new sites all the time

more sites really help

I started with one domain, and like any hobby, I started to collect more. Some are redirected others have content, I am up to a dozen or so.

It started as a way to learn html.

So far 2 sites up and running, third site being worked on right now, should be finished in a week.
I have about 15 extra domains hanging around, and about 50 ideas for niche sites, now to find the time to make them all is the question!
