Phone verification for users generating leads
    Hello there

I'm not sure it's the proper place to ask it but since CJ is a big network and I'm a part of it, I'd like to ask you, affiliates who're running incentivized websites, but others are welcome as well to share their opinions, so here goes

I'd like to set up a Phone Verification feature in my website so users outside of US won't be able to complete US offers. My website has grown and when you grow the fraud comes quickly and I want to get rid of it

I wonder if any of you know on some good programs or anything you can recommend on this field, such as which website is the best one to use its services for Phone Verification, etc

I really appreciate if you could share your opinions

    Thanks,

    Arie

You will lose a lot of leads that way, people won't bother with the telephone and with services like skype someone from Nigeria can call you with a Texas area code.

What you could do is, set up IP Filtering and filter out IPS from out side the US, also set up address verification using an API from the post office and since you are doing IP filtering, you can do an automatic IP whois and find out who their ISP is and compare it to current ISPs in the US

One of my sister companies, DataX Ltd., does a whole lot of data verification for the lead generation industry. The key is to a) not set your filters so tight that you are losing too many conversions, and b) make sure you have ample offers to address offers from all geographic areas (obviously). Data validation is a balancing act and you shouldn't make any big moves (as you're suggesting above) without shadow testing, back testing, etc.

I can make some suggestions or refer you to someone at DataX, if you'd like to email or PM me.

    Thanks for the posts

Regarding Skype - today there are some companies who have a service of phone verification where Skype # cannot be verified

Do you think running those services can do harm to the business because the real US members won't like this feature?

There are ways you can verify connectibility of a Skype number.

Yes, it's right, but I'm not sure what I need. If there's anyone here who uses phone verification I be glad if could share his experience

Tell me - exactly what ar e you trying to accomplish? Is it just filtering US vs non-US traffic? If so, phone verification might be overkill and quite a bit more costly than you need.

That's exactly what I'm trying to achieve, can you please explain what's wrong with phone verification besides of the fact it's expensive?

    Thanks

Other than the price possibly being way out of line....when are you going to ask the consumer to input this information? During a registration process? Before they start browsing?

I could see it depressing your conversions a lot. If I'm a consumer just looking around, if someone asks me to input my phone I'm out of there faster than you can say "national DNC list."

In this case that probably wouldn't matter, as long as the fake number was US.

But I hear you...I do the same thing.

It should be after the registration, when the consumer takes some offers and wants to get paid - he has to pass this verification process

If he just wants to hang around my website he doesn't need to take any step like that

Do you also need to verify address and all that good stuff, or is the money going into a user account on your site?

Money goes through directly, no verification of an address is made

Phone verification is overkill for what you need to do. One suggestion:

"Enter your ZIP code to find the best deals in your area!"

Then you just need to get your hands on a ZIP code directory and ping it before redirecting users.

You mean I should verify users by zipcode and IP ?

I don't know what is it...

Regarding your signature - is it $10 per lead with incentives websites or only for websites that deal with travels etc?
