Not sure about this one. My keyboard has been playing up somethng rotten. SHIFT key not always capitalising letters. Have had the usual bombardement of virus e-mail but caught with virus software. Now keyboard works fine.

Anyone know of a virus that does this?

Maybe I am being paranoid. It could be too much spilt coffee, or God forbid, too much spilt Gin & Tonic - terrible waster of Gin, not to mention the fact i need to go to UK for new keyboard if I lose my old faithful (been with me over 10 years). These Spanish ones are weird and I cannot get ~ on them.

Mine is 5 years old and gets some sticky keys due to my Parrot helping me type as I dictate. They will drop strange things on the KB but he's never been known to spill a drop of Gin. Never heard of a virus attacking a keyboard interface as it's a direct Motherboard electronic poll/receive function.

Thanks Mike. I suspect it is probably the Gin/Coffee situation. Most of my work is done first thing in the morning 6am onwards when my consumption is a maximum

S**t, there we go again. Topping up my G & T with tonic and spilt it over the spacebar. Must be overdoing it with the tonic!

Fabulous idea Andy. I have a baby merchant with a branch in Spain. Can check tracking while I am at it. Maybe I should get a bib too. My white shirts stay white for about an hour after I put them on.

Oh, Oh, they have bottle coolers. No more Ice watering down the tonic !!!!!

Maybe your processor is to busy to handle the shift-key command in a timeley fashion.

The Andy's have gotten together to quell this mysterious KB-gin virus without a heavy dose of McAffee tonic. If you need a spanish KB overseas you might try www.bluecom.com and big computer distributor in the Denmark. I guess TD's Andy only has models that speak Cuban and Mexican.

One of the best cures for a misbehaving keyboard is a good spanking. Seriously. Turn it over and give it several sharp smacks to the back.

If you're the spilling type, best to do this over a trash can.

The second best cure is a trip to the computer store.

Or perhaps in this case a hair dryer. As long as the heat is turned down. Don't want to ignite the fumes.

Does the arisol spray can come in something other than Gin. If you have Johnny Walker or Jim Beam I'll take a case along with the keyboard.

My guess is the tonic is causing the problem. Tonic has a lot of sugar in it. More sugar than most soft drinks.

The gin would act as a penetrant and carry the tonic deep into the switch. When it dries, your key contacts are left with a fine coat of sugar.

Have you considered switching to martinis?

Much as I would like to believe it is tonic, I use tonic light, so no sugar.

Andy, I´ll have one of those keyboards if you ship internati nally

I had occasion to use a friend's computer today and he had the keyboard set to Dvorak. He says it's his front line of security, because it keeps others in his office from mucking around on his machine. I was impressed to watch him touch-type! (But he can only hunt-and-peck on a QWERTY keyboard.)
