    Registerfly woes and endless problems?
I am totally frustrated. I have been trying to renew my 1000 plus domains on Registerfly and they have so much bugs in their system that I just could not do anything. So here's the short version:

    1. Can't renew domains cause their system was buggy
    2. Wrote to their support dept with all the domains that needs to renew.
    3. Got an answer 3 days later (alghouh they say they will reply within 24) and the answer is 'Please list the domains in your support ticket'
    4. I have of course listed the domains in the first place. Apparently the support person just 'form reply' without reading my lengthy message at all.
    5. Call them on their support line, waited for over 1 hour and then hung up.
    6. Try to transfer to Godaddy.
    7. Can't transfer because registerfly do not allow it. The domains were locked.
    8. Try to unlock them (but for domains ending with .biz, .org, or .us), they have bugs and can't unlock.
    9. Wrote to support.
    10. They fixed that prob 1 week later.
    11. Tried to transfer again. No luck. Another prob.
    12. Found that my domains' registrant info have disappeared.
    13. Can't change my registrant info cause it didn't have any now.
    14. Now completely frustrated as 100s of my domains have already expired and a lot expiring.

Anyone have similar woes with Registerfly?

I know this is not related to affilite programs but I am just blowing steam!!!

    A good lesson for others.
I think the domain is the foundation of any website business and you don't want to scrimp by or not investigate your registrar.
I mean if you get a crappy host, you can just switch to a better one. But if your registrar wont let you transfer, loses your domain, or lets it expire, %&^$!

I can only offer one suggestion. Get away from them as soon as you can, as fast as you can.

If anyone has domains there, they should get them out of there as soon as possible.

Same problem here, but only a few domains. They are one big disaster. I am working on this and I got a reply from Elida:

If You have ProtectFly enabled - try to get it removed ASAP!
(Because then eNom will be able to sendt the email to the correct owner.)

    Then contact:
    Elida Flores
    eNom Retail Division
    elida@enom.com
(Elida's whole contact info can be found at http://www.registerflies.com)
and ask if she could help You to have a new "Push-email" created for Your domain.

Follow the instructions in that e-mail and Your domain will be moved
from RegisterFlys eNom account and into Your new eNom account.

Then pay the Renewal fee on that domain to eNom before it expires.

    Uphill,

thanks for the contact info for enom.

Unfortunately, I think the bulk of my 1000 plus domains have already been transfered to Registerfly when they moved out of enom. They sent out a transfer request which i approved so i guess enom can't help me there. But i think i may have about 100 with enom still.

I have been with registerfly for years (at least 2-3 years) when they were enom's reseller. I liked their interface then and they did not have so much probs and issues then. It's only now they have all the bugs when they became their own registrar. Unfortunately the domains already reside with them and you can't do anything now. They have set all my domains to 'client transfer prohibited, client update prohibited'. Even though I have unlocked all my domains and did not use protectfly. They are doing this illegally or they may have database and script problems and totally incompetent people working there.

I can only sit and watch all my domains getting de-registered one after another.

You think? If you want to be sure, contact her anyway and explain the situation. Somehow they can pull domains from Registerfly.

My domains should be registered at RF and they are at their control panel, but when I did a whois, they were at enom to my surprise.

Make sure you unlock all of your domains & turn off Protecfly. You will see a code in your contact details for each domain, it could take some time with this many. I also have 500 or so with them but I have started transferring several months before they expire as I to have had many problems with this outfit in the past. The only person that has been helpful for me there is a person called Robin Elise. try to contact them and they will help you if you manage to get hold of them. everyone else there I have dealt with will waste your time. good luck, also check out webhostingtalk for more help if needed

Hey Guys, thanks for the support. You kind words makes it easier. I haven't slept in days trying to transfer. I have even called registerfly and got put on hold for an hour before hanging up.

I'll try what uphill suggested, ie, try to get enom to transfer my domains over.

Yesterday I received confirmation that my domains were pulled away from Registerfly and now safe at eNom. Good service from Elida.

One of my domains would have been expired (and lost) because Registerfly is one big mess right now.

It seems that the two owners of Registerfly are at state of war which each other. And one is blocking his part from the other. So no client can change anything anymore.

Dang! That's just great! Do they have an office? How do I get my domains that are with them (and not enom) renewed then?

I have nearly finished transferring several domains away from RF and it looks to have gone smoothly so far although these are not registered with enom. I wish you the best of luck.

Somehow some of my domains (that are with registerfly not enom) are locked by them. I can't unlock them because it says they are ALREADY unlocked in my account. But whois shows

    clienttransfer prohibited
    clientmodification prohibited

And when i tried to initiate a transfer out from godaddy, it just says Invalid Status.

Does anyone know what to do in this case? Since their support is non-existence. i wonder if they even have anyone working anymore. You can't call, support tickets aren't answered.

I am thinking of taking the next flight out to their headquarters, but was wondering where it is and if it's even a brick and mortar business.

    Any further help is appreciated.

Yes, it's turned off. At least it 'says' it's off.

Looks like cheapskate domain registrars, all playing the MFA (Made for Adsense) parked domain click traps, have you by the short hairs. They want your 1000 MFA domains to swap out, your template garbage, with theirs.

ok then the only thing I can suggest now is to still try to contact them, I'm unsure what the state of their support is in, from the reports I'm hearing it doesn't even exist now. It used to be really bad so this doesn't surprise me. Fortunately I have not had to use their support lately but I can imagine what you must be going through. You could also try more specialized domain name forums like webhostingtalk/ domains, Namepros etc and post your details there and some experts in this area can give you their feedback There is many discussions lately over at webhostingtalk on registerfly and members having similar problems to yours. Good luck, let us know how you get on.

this is getting more interesting each day,

There were two original partners in Registerfly. One was Kevin Medina who now lives in Miami Beach and the other was John Naruszewicz.

The two partners began to disagree with how the company was being managed. This disagreement led to the attempt from one partner to remove the other. However, the partner that maintained control over the registry with all the passwords and data, refused to release any of this information to the partner. Therefore, everyone in the company is blocked out of accessing the registry or any of the data.
Kevin Medina - The CEO on the Run

a comment on registerflies by a registerfly employee...

Many purchases were made in an illegal fashion , which were not company related and all for personal use. These charges include, 6,000 dollars for a liposuction procedure.
More than 10,000 monthly for rent fees applied to a penthouse in Miami, Florida.
The most shocking, being more than 10,000 for the services of a male escort!!!!

Looks like it's too late now for us and hundreds of thousands of domain owners. I have tried everything and their system is locked and all the domains still there are locked and you can't renew or transfer out.

I really hope the owners spend some quality time in Jail!

It looks like some domains like .info's mainly are ok to transfer but I also notice good .com's & dot net's are not allowed to be transfered out, they don't display the Authority transfer codes for these domains. So that does confirm they are actually trying to steal peoples domains. All the forums are full of people complaing lol. I'm starting to move mine, got some out, a few good ones stolen (or held illegaly by them) but I should be able to get most of them out I think and the ones I can't get out now then I hope that I will get them back soon as I doubt they can get away with this. My domains don't start expiring until may so hope it will be sorted out by then.

Glinted... It's good to have someone to talk to about this. I am extremely stressed out over this. I have some live sites that are already gone. But I am trying to get them back. In a few days, one of our biggest property will also vanish. I can only look on to doomsday. I can only hope our customers understand. Do you think that knocking on their office doors would do any good? Or, would it be a ghost town??

bizzer, I would suggest heading over to registerflies.com and use the form they have got their for emergencies like your one. They apparently set this up with the approval and help from the owners of RF themselves. None of my domains are expiring soon so I'm just not going to panic yet and they may even get their act together now since their has been lots of new developments. It really is like a script to a movie especially if you read some of the news posted over at the flies. Meetings with ICANN etc are going on, Keven locked out, support is back up etc... I tried to transfer about 10 domains a few days ago, so far only one domain has gone through by the looks...
