    What's up @ B&N?
    Hi all,

I just logged into my B&N affiliate account to add some links and got a message that the affiliate program is unavailable at this time because they are changing affiliate platforms. They have a link for me to click thru to my account to access the links so that's not a problem.

My stats are good on both the B&N site and on the CJ site (except B&N reports I've earned .02 cents more than the CJ site reports. )

I'm just confused about the affiliate platform. Could someone please give me more information?

    Connie

I just logged into BeFree and was able to get Barnes & Noble links with no problem.

I didn't see any messages anywhere about a platform change either.

Got my hopes up when I saw your post. I was hoping they were leaving BeFree. They are one of the few last holdouts that at BeFree that I have on my site.

    UPDATE:
I just went to the barnes and noble website itself and found the message you were talking about on the affiliate program sign up page.

Yippee!!! They ARE moving. That is good news!

The message is on the affiliate page on the bn.com site.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think Barnes & Noble might have been BeFree's first merchant. If not their first, definitely one of the first.

Yep, I think you are correct on that one.

I wish Best Buy and Gateway would pull up stakes there too.

I just have them and 3 other merchants that I can do without if I really wanted to that are left there.

You may not learn where they are going until after March 1st. Based on what I was told by another former BeFree merchant, BeFree will not allow them to announce their new program until after their BeFree contract expires which means you cannot change your links until that time and there will be a period in which you will not earn commissions.

This is not the case when a BeFree merchant switches over to CJ, in which case there are no restrictions.

They were certainly the first merchant I signed up with at BeFree, and the only remaining one that is making any money for me.

I'm glad they're moving. Will save me 30 seconds a day checking stats since I will no longer need to check BeFree.

WOW, it's definitely got to be because of CJ dissolving the BF interface. From what I understand most of the B&N aff program and site was built upon and reliant to BF software and tracking.

Performics gives me a headache. I just can't get used to things there. I liked it when I first got into this stuff, but now it is just quirky (sp?). I wish they would have gone elsewhere.

I think the only BeFree merchant I'll have left after B&N moves in Ancestry.com. Wow, things have changed.

Their program with BeFree hasn't ended yet. They're also not yet listed on Performics.

    Newbie question!

Will I have to rebuild all my B&N links or will there be some kind of transition Performics will do behind the scenes?

I'm sure we'll have to change all our links. I've never seen a merchant move to another network where we didn't have to.

OK - I just got the formal email about the switch - and followed the link to join at performics.

    Here's what it says:

    Barnes & Noble.com
    3-Month EPC $0.00
    7-Day EPC $0.00
    Commission Duration 0
    % of Trans. 0.00%
    $ per Trans. $0.00
    $ per Action $0.00

    Zero cookies and Zero commissions

Hey! I need SOMETHING to post a link

    I'm sure it's a mistake

It looks like the commissions are the same as they were in befree. I just applied and got approved. Time to start changing links.
