Limitations on posting to Webmasters Barter / Trade / Buy or Sell
Is anyone else finding that the number of postings to the Webmasters Barter / Trade / Buy or Sell forum is getting out of hand? There are multiple posts from individuals kluging up the new posts queue and it's pushing the more relevant posts to the bottom. I find that really annoying.

Would anyone other than me like to see individuals limited to one post per day in that forum? People who use the forum would then either post all the domain names they wish to sell in one post or limit themselves to one post per day.

What say you, ABWers? Are you as cranky as I am?

It is kind of annoying to miss topics which could be of interest.

By limiting to one post per day or week, it would also envoke (spelled wrong I think) creativity in that they will need to find a catchy header which encompases all of the domains together or they can be plain and say "car domains for sale" etc...

Good idea (to run this poll), Rhea. I've cast my vote for the first option.

People with a lot of domains for sale should probably consolidate them into a single thread (and I think most do). Also, I would rather see posting on that forum be restricted to active forum members rather than newbies (and I think that was the original intention).

I wouldn't mind a post a day. It could hold a list, then. But then, what happens when 50 people want to post? Might have to make it a profit center . . .

Hey Michael, I realize that enforcing a rule like that might make more work for the mods but I think we really need it. It's been getting worse and today it just went over the top, IMO. I also like your idea to limit posting in that forum to active, established members. (IOW, anyone who has PM privileges.) Not sure if that could be automated but it sure would be nice.

And maybe posts in that forum wouldn't count toward overall post counts? I dunno. Just thinking out loud.

I agree with you Rhea. I was just thinking that this morning as I looked at new posts.

Haiko, is there any way that a user could select forums to exclude when viewing new posts?

I would think this would lead to more members making fluff posts to activate their memberships? Many of the domainers are not affiliate types. I can see both ways.

It doesn't bother me at all since it may be something I would like to buy. How about we limit the daily chuckle to one post a day. There would be no laughter in the world

    Cool
I think that was a good move. It is still a good service but does get in the way sometimes.
