    A Great Marketing Idea?
On our local morning news show, they had a couple guys who created this super blender. I know, a big yawn right? What until you see how they market their super blender.

They did a Mardi Gras blend this morning, which consisted of a few strings of beads, an airline sized bottle of alcohol (bottle included), some orange juice and some fruit. With the non-food items in it, nobody drank it but think of the free marketing. They were featured 3 or 4 times during the show as they blended all kinds of non-food items, inlcuding a snow shovel.

When I saw the first demo, I couldn't help but think "What a great idea for a website! Blend something new each week or so and show consumers how tough your blender is." Well, they saw the potential too and created such a website. Does this spark any ideas for new affiliate marketing and your site?

If you need more inspiration, watch them blend a golf ball, some tees and a driver here. Then, click on Don't Try This @ Home on the left.

I love the idea of tossing non-edibles into the blender until it breaks. What's next, ball bearings? (One can only hope.)

So I guess the idea here is to think of fun non-traditional, unexpected ways in which objects can be used. Artists are very good at that so perhaps hiring an artist to deconstruct/reconstruct the purposing of a product would be a good marketing tool.

I didn't see a ball bearing video but they did blend Cubic Zirconia into powder.

Will It Blend has been around for a while. It's been one of the most successful viral marketing campaigns to come out lately.

Yep, they owe their popularity mostly to Youtube. There was even an article about this in a recent Internet Retailer magazine.
