First, never use namebargain.com for domain names. Their snafu cost me a domain name I have had for 2 years.

I built this site up, it gets 5,000 uniques everyday. I was waiting for namebargin to give me one bill instead of 30 bills, they were dragging their feet and bam.

The date passed, the domain got snatched up by http://www.ultsearch.com/

Is there anything I can do?

I feel like crying. I updated the site every single day, now it is just gone. Gone. gone.

I'm afraid not, unless you own the TM for the name. You can try making the sniper an offer. Domain sniping is becoming big business these days and I strongly suspect that some of the registrars are directly involved. If they can make an extra fee for registering a domain for a squatter/sniper the minute it expires, there is no real incentive for them to send an expiration reminder to existing customers.

How long was it on registrar hold?

Bastards. The same domain with name-name, was registered on the same day by me.

So just now, i think - hey! I will signup for that using my new registrar and use that and be done with namebargain/register.com - I can't.

The name is unavailable. Not that it has been registered, but that they have not released it.

So it looks like someone used a snapback like service that could grab names, before you could grab names, like maybe register.com only early releases names if they are going to make extra money from it.

This is wrong. So very, very wrong.
