I just read this article about Google finally allowing Canadian Companies to be Google Adwords Qualified.

I presume there's supposed to be some benefit to being "AdWords Qualified..."
The mention of a "minimum spend" smells like a marketing gimmick. So what's in it for companies who melt their CCs, that's so great that Canadians were clamouring at G's gates to get the designation?
Sorry if the info's been posted before, but with a name like "AdWords Qualified" I probably ignored it, figuring it was just some catchphrase from G.
