    filename problem
I want my detail page names to be like: atlanta-service-centers.htm

When I set the extension to -service-centers.htm, I get this in webmerge output:

    atlanta.-service-centers.htm

Why the extra '.' after atlanta? Anway to achieve this. There is no space or dot in my feed after atlanta....

    Thanks, Paul

I would double-check the feed and the tag in the template. WebMerge has no way of generating extra periods in data.

This is how atlanta appears in the feed:

    ,"Alabama",

    no dots

if I set the extension to .htm, everyting is fine

    If is try -service.htm, I get atlanta.-service.htm

what does the template have to do with the generated detail page filename? Doesn't that just come from the field in the feed and whatever extension you have setup?

The file name extension field in WebMerge is for using different file name extension, e.g. ".php", ".asp", ".htm". WebMerge makes sure that whatever's in that field is appended to generated files, and ensures that it's separated from the file name with a period, which for most file name extensions is what you'd want.

In your case you're using that as more than a file name extension, to include a portion of the file name before the actual extension. That's an interesting idea, and I'd like to look into ways to support that in the future, but currently the file name extension field only supports file name extensions.
