    Some Images Dead - Solution?
I have pretty much leaped all the hurdles to developing a php/mysql based site. One remains however. The merchant feed(s) have dead links on about 1/5 of the images. On a Firefox or Netscape browser this is not too bad since nothing shows up and I still have the product info and URL. On the IE browser however you get the ugly missing image box with a red X in the middle - junk like this really scares off visitors. Unfortunately, 85% of people still use IE browser.

Is there a remedy, other than checking every single image and notifying the merchant to fix their feed? I would like the IE browser to showing nothing at all for the missing image rather than the ugly box.

    Thanks in advance!

OK, I found out why the images were not showing. After close inspection of the URL, I found the directory / missing in some urls. A find and replace can quickly fix this.

It still would be nice to have a way to prevent ugly missing image indicators.
