It is an ICANN requirement that Whois data be accurate, and if it was this would never have happened.

Amazing Godaddy didn't call or write a letters as every other domian jumping outfit like Domains of merica send out official domain hijacking letters everyday. Then if you ignor those they call you to claim jump any PR ranked site. Parked domain registrars are just scam artists with their MFA click traps.

I see no proof that GoDaddy owns this domain. I am not trying to stand up for GD, but how do we know that they did it? Domains registered and not pointed elsewhere go to GD's links page.

I agree as their address was there,

I'm sure Godady sent snail mail, unless also a fake address and that is if that claim is true.

I've been with GD since beginning and never had any problems. I once almost lost a domain and after 90 days got it back for only price of renewal and late fees.

with email filtering and such, it's incredible that this would be allowed to happen. as everyone here knows, you might have the domain name owned at GD, but have the site hosting and email at another hosting company. that email from GD not getting through to the owner shouldn't be an event that can ever end ownership. if GD needs to charge to make phone contact or to mail a postcard, then do so and post a policy explaining why.

I have a GoDaddy registered domain I decided not to renew, and I've gotten 60 day, 30 day, and 5 day email reminders about it. And I just now got a phone call from them. Seems to me they're going above and beyond what they're required to do. The domain expires in 5 days.

I think I'll stay with them.
