Are WE stupid or are they stupid?

Seems way stupid to me and I wouldn't jump on it as a business plan but hey, I'm sure someone's making a buck that way.

what are the chances that if you clicked on a link that went to an adsense page that you would find nothing of value, yet then click on a link to something else?

providing payment to the webmaster for nothing more than providing a page that chased visitors to something else, gota love the quality of "the content network" sites ;-)

well at least now I know what he was doing. i truly had no idea way an adsense ad would lead to an adsense page

    i'm still confused:

if it costs about a buck to run the original ad, and assuming he makes 3 cents (which seems to be what I make) when someone clicks an ad on his page... isn't it a loosing propostion from the start?

This is Paid search arbitrage, they buy cheap keywords and optimize their pages in such a way that - most of the time - the clicks will pay them quite a bit more per click and they end up making a profit, because this is done in VERY large volumes.

This sort of thing been around for quite a while now. some of these websites containing nothing but adsense ads get placed somewhere in alexa's top 500 rankings from time to time.

they scraped the "content" from a search engine so it has lots of keywords (what could be better content...lmao) this then fools the quality? filter into thinking that it's worth linking to and i'm guessing that the cpc they target is much closer to 1-10 cents hoping to convert it for 20 or more.

have you ever noticed the java agents coming from ev1servers.net ....well you may have just found the end result....

Very common Billy. It was one of the leading factors in Google launching the Landing Page Quality checks for Adwords advertisers...

And it shouldn't be incredibly cost effective anymore. But as we all know, some people always find a way...

Dang another one of my secrets exposed lol. Actually paid arbitrage is going away with the landing page as it states above.

At one time I actually saw this lead from one adsense page to another adsense page to a third page that had adsense. How they track roi on that is beyond me.

There is money in it, I myself despise it and am sure end users do as well, more so when it does daisy chain into multiple level adsense results.

I think it sucks. I'm also concerned that too many of these setups will cause viewers to become scared to click on AdSense ads. If that happens, it'll be bad for all involved.

As for its monetary potential, I think that if done right, of course it'd be possible to make money. But if done wrong (for instance if the pages accidentally key into *lower* paying ads), I could see money being lost at record speed, especially if done in bulk.
