Bugs Bunny Car Decal: Yes or No
Hubby is being very mean. He won't let me put a Bugs Bunny decal on our car. It's a beautiful Bugs Bunny cartoon printed on a tasteful, high quality oval decal.

He thinks it's ridiculous. I think he's being mean. Would you let your spouse put a cherished image on your car? I bet you would!

EDIT: I screwed up the poll. Waaah! Vote anyway puleeze!

It might be redic on a limo, but certainly not on a puddlejumper. Offer to put a roadrunner on his car.

What my wife usually does with bumper stickers is to buy a magnetic sheet and stick them on that. That way, it doesn't have to be permanent and you can move them from car to car. Just don't forget to take them off before you go through a car wash, though.

Thanks for fixing the poll Haiko!

Good idea about the magnetic decal, Michael. I can smuggle it on and off the car without him even knowing. <elg>

Herb, it's a five year old Subaru Forester. It's not like it's some souped up sports car or anything.

The car already has a vanity plate with the name of one of my web sites on it. It's a nonsense word and hubby gets a lot of questions from his coworkers about what the word means and why it's on our car. I think he might be afraid that a Bugs Bunny sticker will make HIM look like the nutcase in the family. But you all know by now that's me, right?

I'm not much help I'm afraid - I like my cars plain and unadorned. Michael's idea is perfect I think. I've often had temporary opinions I wanted to express.... hehe. Temporary is the reason I like my cars plain.

If I was going to put something on my car, though - Bugs Bunny would be right up there!

    Bugs + Forester = Nah

Besides the whole WB Bugs & Co. fashion ended in the late 90s.

PS. Vinyl decals are easy enough to remove.

We've never had a bumper sticker on any of our cars, but if Ellen wanted one on her car, that's her decision, as long as it isn;t something like "Alan snores and it wakes me up". But I don't know if your hubby is being mean... Could be he just doesn't like decals on cars. I'd guess that he is not a NASCAR fan!!!

On the other hand, if you are doing it to advertise - it can be productive! I saw Scooters Element a month or so ago when he came over to go fishing and his entire car is a tasteful, eye - catching billboard for Coupon Pouch. Looks super and gets him business too!

OK, enough babbling, I vote YES!!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I also have a license plate frame on the car that reads, "Peace-Love-Puppiness." That might also explain why hubby's reached his tolerance limit with car decor.

I see the vote is tied. I bet all the "no" votes were from guys! (Yes, I know that's chauvinistic.)

I'm with Judi in the "unadorned" camp. I just can't bring myself to put stickers on my bumper. Perhaps that comes from years of having to scrape parking permits off my windshield...

If you want him to agree to let you put the decal on the car, here's what you need to do:

Rhea: Honey, we need to buy a second car.
    Husband: What? Why?
Rhea: So I can have somewhere to put my Bugs Bunny Decal.

Of course he might just tell you somewhere else to put the decal.

I tried that tactic, Michael and I got "the look." (You know the one where your spouse looks at you as if they couldn't be more disappointed in your bad behavior?) We still have hubby's 15 year old, 150K+ miles Nissan NX and he says we're not getting a new car until that one dies.

I hate that car. There's a trick to turning on the ignition, there's a trick to shifting gears, the A/C doesn't work and it takes forever for the heat to come on. Besides that you ride so low in that car I feel like I'm looking up the butt of the car in front of me. Ewwwww!

    I'm very whiny today, huh?

I got over the stickers thing YEARS ago... no bumper stickers or window stickers going on the firebird.... but on your car, magnetic signs maybe. Yes, Scoots vehicle is VERY cool, and I have seen other cool advertising on vehicles as well. Heck, I had magnetic signs on my *station wagon* for years when I did wedding photography for a living "back in the day". And on my vans, I loved stickers, but no more....

I'd rather put stickers on Brian... oh wait, that's another thread...

I had no idea so many people were anti-decal. Stop the decal hate!

I don't hate decals. In fact I'm thinking about decorating my own car. But if I shared the car with someone we'd have to both agree or it wouldn't happen.

I was about to vote yes for you but, you're saying he drives it to work?
    hubby's reached his tolerance limit
vanity plate, puppiness plate. Wonder what else, like hangin in the rear-view mirror too.

Think he needs to fix that ac/heater in the Nissan NX quick.

Dave had a custom van once upon a time that I swear cost me a promotion when I drove it to work.
Sometimes when we came out of the mall, people would be standing by it taking pictures.
We called it the Pooh van, but it was really Winnie the Pooh and a Playboy theme combined.
Anyway - it made me appreciate cars in classic colors like black, white, red, silver, gold or navy with nothing on them, not even a custom plate.

So we're eating dinner and I tell hubby about this poll and, being the obscenely honest and non-manipulative person that I am, I tell him that so far there are more decal haters than decal lovers at ABW. He smiles at me and says, "You can put the decal on the car. It's not a big deal."

Is he the sweetest man in the world, or what?

Oh, and Michael, he doesn't like your magnetic sheeting idea because he's afraid someone might steal my Bugs Bunny decal. You know...the one he hated just yesterday! lol!

Am I a lucky woman or what?
