Western Union, one of the financial tool in payment processing of gaming sites, has cut off money transfer services to 40 offshore bookmakers. This is to curb unlawful sports gambling in Florida area according to Attorney General Bob Butterworth.

The action was taken at the request of the said attorney general to combat the proliferation of sports betting operations headquartered in the Caribbean and soliciting unlawful wagers from Floridians. This would curb gaming activities for Floridians who use WU service to play around the US restrictions on gambling.
