    FTP site for datafeeds down?
    Hi,

I'm trying to update some datafeeds via FTP. But I keep getting repeated messages that I'm not logged in, cannot connect, or whatever.

I know my user name and password are correct, as they are the same I've always used. So I think something may be wrong with the FTP servers?

Anybody else know what's going on? Maybe it's just me??

    Thanks,

    Gary Speer

I'm assuming merchants and affiliates connect to the same server (datafeeds.shareasale.com)?

I checked it from my [affiliate] side and it works.

    Code:
    Status:	Connecting to datafeeds.shareasale.com ...
Status:	Connected with datafeeds.shareasale.com. Waiting for welcome message...
Response:	220 ShareASale Datafeed FTP Server (v. 1.0)
    Command:	USER ******
Response:	331 Password required for ******.
    Command:	PASS ******
    Response:	230 Login OK. Proceed.

Ah, well. Doesn't seem to be my day. It's been like that all day. Moan, groan (whine! whine! whine!).

I, too, am trying as an affiliate. I got this message, and have been getting it all evening:

    Status: Connecting to datafeeds.shareasale.com ...
Status: Connected with datafeeds.shareasale.com. Waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 ShareASale Datafeed FTP Server (v. 1.0)
    Command: USER ******
Response: 331 Password required for ******.
    Command: PASS ********
    Response: 530 Not logged in.
    Error: Unable to connect!

Any suggestions? Clues? I've gotten that message every time I've tried to connect for the last hour and a half.

Ah. You said "update some datafeeds", my mind instantly thought merchant. A Miller Lite moment.

Not too sure why you can't connect, and me assuming again, you can login to your SAS account right?

    Hey Gary!

I use Firefox as my browser. Come to think of it, I haven't tried IE for awhile, so I don't know if it might be something specific to Firefox.

    Suggestions? Comments?
Just Dump The Stupid , or Firefox or, whatever other browser you're using.

It might be ok to test your pages on all the browsers out there, if you have the time and the incline to do so, but it would be stupid to try to use a regular problematic browser to do just about everything else money related.

IE may not be a popular browser around here, but after I have tried a few others, I really don't care about using any other browser for my daily work.

A lot of people hate IE for their own personal reasons, some will say that IE sucks for this or for that, some would just hate IE because it's from MS and they hate BG, but I while I might understand that the Apple users may like their browser better because it's better, all I can say is that I have been using IE for over 10 years, and so far, I just wish that any problem I find once in awhile was just because I use IE.

Btw, I am just wondering right now, why those people that used to promote the , or Firefox browser for fee on their signature around here before, they are no longer doing so.

You know, I had the same problem a few days ago. Turns out, I was using my affiliate ID instead of my LOGIN username. I felt like such an idiot. LOL. Don't know if that's your problem, but you might want to double check that.

Not too sure what a browser has to do with FTP? But apparently Sal has issues, lol.

    Well......

When I do a FTP any other way, a browser may have nothing to do with it, but if I do a FTP by regular ftp:// datafeeds.shareasale.com/ on my browser, then that browser may have something to do with that FTP!

To paraphrase the great Scarlet O'Hara: "Tomorrow is another day."

I mean, "Tomorrow is now today." Or maybe, "It's today and now it's a new day." Ah, well.

Anyhooo -- today I'm able to FTP into ShareaSale.com's site for the datafeeds and I'm connecting just fine the first time, every time.

    Go figure?
